Staff has reviewed this item. Ald. Payne had asked that staff review the parking conditions on Hyde Park Avenue from Michigan Ave to Chicago Ave. In this location, there are existing parking restrictions on the east side of the road related to Blair School and open parking on the west side. During the school year, mostly Blair School staff park on the west side all day during the school day. In an effort to be more consistent with other schools in the City and to provide more parking opportunities for parents dropping off and picking up students, staff recommends to install a 2 hour parking zone that applies during school hours but not after hours or during the summer months.
Recommended Motion: Approve the installation of 2 Hour Parking, 7AM to 4PM, September 1 to June 15, Except Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays on the west side of Hyde Park Avenue from Michigan Avenue to Chicago Avenue.
