Recommendation
Upon the request of the parking agents and in coordination with Ald. Hernandez, staff has review the existing parking zones along the east side of Perkins Avenue from Main Street to National Avenue. There are several existing parking zones that were place years ago when the manufacturing building was full and workers needed to park on Perkins Avenue. The buildings are at a lower use today and the parking zones no longer make since. Existing parking signing has fallen into disrepair and parking agents find it hard to give tickets.
To that end, engineering staff is recommending removal of all parking zones on the east side of Perkins and to establish new zones that are typical of zones on the rest of Perkins Avenue. This item No. 15-2385 will cover the rescinding of the existing parking zones and Items No. 15-2386, 2387, 2388 will cover the new parking zones.
Recommended Motion: Move to rescind all parking zones on the east side of Perkins Avenue from the corner E. Main Street to National Avenue.
