Recommendation
City staff is administering the construction of a dumpster enclosure at the western edge of Municipal Lot 3. Four existing parking stalls will be removed with this construction. To offset the parking spots lost, staff is proposing to reopen 4 stalls that are located directly north of 400 W. Main Street. The proprietor of 400 W. Main Street had a parking area that had ingress from Lot 3 and necessitated a (painted) closure of 4 parking stalls. This business has now built an outdoor deck and ingress to this old parking area and, therefore, the 4 public stalls can be reopened. This information was shared with Ald. Helgestad and he is in favor of reopening the 4 stalls. The Department of Public Works does not have an issue with this item.
