Recommendation

This item was brought forward by Ald. Wilke in early 2019.  Residents on Northview Road would like the speed limit reduced to 25 MPH.  Engineering staff would need to conduct a spot speed study on Northview Road to determine if a speed reduction is recommended.  Since Phase 2 of the Northview Road Reconstruction project is occurring in 2019, Engineering staff will wait until Fall of 2019 to conduct a spot speed study that encompasses the entire Northview Road corridor from N. Grandview Blvd. to Meadowbrook Road.

Subsequent to completion of Northview Road in November 2019, City staff had asked the new area alderman, Rick Lemke, if he wanted Engineering staff to continue with conducting a speed study which would have to wait until spring 2020.  Ald. Lemke requested that this item be withdrawn at the January 20, 2020 Building and Grounds meeting.
