Recommendation
This item was referred by Public Works. This item, along with items 1685, 1687, 1688, 1689, 1690 and 1691 are all related to the same project. In 2021, the City will reconstruct Sentry Drive and N. Prairie Avenue. During the design process, Engineering staff had several recommendations to improve safety conditions along both corridors. One recommendation was to reduce the posted speed limit on the Sentry Drive / W. College Ave. corridor from Phillip Drive to N. Prairie Ave. Existing posted speed limit is 35 MPH and the request to reduce the posted speed limit to 25 MPH. The Department of Public Works recommends approval.
