Recommendation
This item was referred by Ald. Rodriquez in response to traffic / pedestrian safety concerns on Arcadian Avenue, specifically at the Oakland Avenue intersection. In May and June of 2021, Engineering staff had conducted a traffic study of this area to develop a plan of action to address vehicular traffic and pedestrian safety issues. The study results show the subject improvements would benefit the overall traffic safety on the Arcadian Avenue corridor, specifically to slow traffic down prior to the Oakland Avenue intersection. The Department of Public Works recommends approval of this item. The cost for installing a permanent speed feedback sign would be around $4,000.
