Recommendation

This item was brought forward by Ald. Rodriguez.  In 2019, the Building and Grounds Committee approved the installation of a sign at the intersection of E. Moreland Blvd. and White Rock Avenue.  The sign was to direct truck drivers to use White Rock Avenue to access then US Foods Corp.  This distribution center has changed ownership and is now Burris Logistics.  The sign is now requested to be changed out to say “To Burris Logistics”.  The Department of Public Works does not have any issue changing out this sign.  However, the cost for the sign should be paid for by Burris Logistics.  The Committee can decide if they want Burris to pay for the replacement sign.

The cost for installing a new sign would be around $200 and covered by the 2021 Building and Grounds Sign Budget (3310.54140).  Or, the Committee  can make it a requirement of approval to have Burris Logistics to pay the city to make and install the sign.
