Recommendation
This item was brought forward by Ald. McElderry. Residents in the River Valley Road neighborhood have concerns about an increase in truck traffic on River Valley Road when the proposed Kwik Trip is opened and the traffic signal at Les Paul Pkwy. is operational. The request is to prohibit trucks over 3 Ton from using River Valley Road from CTH H (River Road) to the Kwik Trip development but not prohibit Kwik Trip from making fuel and grocery deliveries. To accommodate this, the 3 Ton limit signs would be placed at River Road and at a distance of 600 feet south of Les Paul Pkwy. The Department of Public Works does not have any issues with placing a weight restriction signing on River Valley Road.
The cost for installing the weight restriction signs would be around $200 and covered by the 2021 Building and Grounds Sign Budget (3310.54140).
